Umiya Mata — Goddess Umiya — is the kuldevi of the Kadva Patidar community, one of the most prosperous and jewellery-conscious communities in all of Gujarat. According to mythological tradition, Maa Umiya was established at Unjha by Lord Shankar himself, making this temple one of the most sacred sites in Patidar culture. Millions of devotees visit the Umiya Mata Temple every year — from across Gujarat, from Maharashtra, from the Patidar diaspora spread across the world.
The Umeshwar Hall within this sacred complex is more than a banquet space. It is a place where the community gathers for its most important occasions — and on September 9 & 10, one of those occasions will be the India Jewellery Show.
